Born and raised in Cincinnati, Chris first picked up a racquet at the age of four. He played varsity tennis at Walnut Hills High School and became an all-conference player at Oberlin College, graduating in 2008 with a degree in Biology.

Since then, the sport has been a near-constant companion while moving to and from different cities — from teaching private lessons in Los Angeles and Minneapolis to training high-level juniors in Southeast China. 

Chris’s passion and enthusiasm for tennis have only grown, and he never tires of how multi-faceted and truly rewarding the game can become.

He is a Mid-Western Sectional coach and Former Cincinnati-Area Training Center Administrator and Head Coach, having taught professionally since 1980. 

He Helps students attain college scholarships for tennis and works with many national, sectional, and district level players and boys and girls high school singles and doubles champions.

Tony played college tennis at Briar Cliff College for three years in Sioux City, Iowa, and transferred his senior year to The University of Illinois of Springfield, Illinois, all NAIA schools. 

His doubles team was undefeated and ranked as number one in the country. He opted not to play NCAA and chose to get certified to teach tennis at Van Dee Meer Tennis University (PTR) and has been teaching since 1979. 

He has coached over 100 collegiate scholarship players and six state champs. Tony held a leadership role at Camargo Racquet Club and has been with Five Seasons since 2017.
