Vechione, a native of El Paso, Texas and a 2012 graduate of Franklin High School, served as an assistant tennis coach with Western New Mexico University during the 2018-2019 season. Prior to that he was an assistant with Seminole State College in Oklahoma.
He had an extensive collegiate career playing at Seminole State, Texas A&M University-Texarkana and Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, Okla. While attending Seminole State, Vechione was ranked 30th in the nation in men’s doubles and was third in men’s singles.

2 - El Paso Tennis Lesson Coach: Nathaniel Horner

A graduate of NCAA Division III Bridgewater College in Virginia, Horner helped guide the Eagles to an 8-11 overall record and a 6-4 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) mark during his senior campaign.
During his four years playing for head coach Jordan Robinson, Horner finished with 62 career singles wins. As a junior during the 2017-18 season, he finished 10-7 in singles play while going 9-6 in doubles play. His record of 12-1 in singles play as a sophomore earned him second team All-ODAC honors.
Graduating with a major in philosophy and religion, Horner began his coaching career at NCAA Division I University of Delaware where he served as a volunteer assistant for the men under current head coach Pablo Montana.

Anderson had spent the last 25 years at Eastwood High School in El Paso. During that time, he coached 17 athletes who went to compete at the college level.
“Stan has been a successful coach for a long time,” said Director of Athletics Scott Farmer. “His familiarity with West Texas will go a long way towards continuing to grow the program to where it can be.”
Anderson’s squads were some of the best in the state winning three team district titles, four boy’s district titles, three girl’s district titles, 15 individual district champions, and 10 state team championship appearances. Over his 25 years Anderson compiled a career .731 winning percentage.
“I want to build on the positive culture that is found at UTPB and engage our student-athletes with the community,” said Anderson. “I believe everything is in place here to continue to attract high caliber student-athletes and work towards winning conference championships.”
Anderson is married to his wife of 32 years, Dolores. They have a daughter, Rebekah, who played tennis at Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a lover of college sports and enjoys reading and playing video games in his spare time.

Rebeca Calvillo was born and raised in Durango, Mexico. She started playing tennis at age three at the encouragement of her mother. From ages 9-18, she was ranked in the top-three in Mexico. She played tennis internationally, representing her country in France, Germany, Netherlands, Morocco and the United States.
She arrived in El Paso in August, 2010 and played four years for UTEP. She was a three-time team MVP, second team All-Conference for singles and third team All-Conference for doubles. After completing her college eligibility, she pursued a coaching career. She spent one season as a student assistant coach and is in her second season as a graduate assistant coach.

It started as a paid position but she decided to just volunteer to assist in helping develop the children classes in exchange to practice in this club.
